Garden Adventurers
About RC Garden Adventurers (Garden Club)
River Crossing Garden Adventurers, part of the River Crossing POA, is all about a group of residents who are passionate about learning about gardening and landscaping in the Texas Hill Country. However, a green thumb and prolific gardening knowledge are not required.
This group also loves touring unique places in our beautiful Texas Hill Country area that aren't always focused on gardening.
We would love to have you join us in our ventures as we welcome all!
We encourage dialog about how to improve our methods, enhance our landscaping and how to select the best plants for the challenges we face in the Texas Hill Country.
From our desires to become more educated, we create a calendar full of seminars, field trips, tours of professionally landscaped gardens and visits to gardens of our own members, along with some interesting stops at unique restaurants, specialty items, and maybe a winery or two!

The River Crossing Garden Adventurers recently enjoyed a
day trip to Fredericksburg, where they visited several unique and inspiring
gardens. Their first stop was The Biblical Garden at
Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. Led by master gardener Jim Wilhite, the
group explored this serene garden, which features only plants mentioned in the
Bible, offering both botanical beauty and spiritual reflection Jim also guided the group through the Dr. John Lipe
Garden, a project of the Hill Country Master Gardeners. This educational space
showcases over 100 native Texas plants, highlighting the diversity and
resilience of local flora. Next, the adventurers visited the tranquil Japanese
Garden of Peace at the Nimitz Museum. This beautifully designed garden honors
the mutual respect between two naval leaders: Japanese Admiral Heihachiro Togo
and American Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. No trip to Fredericksburg would be complete without
experiencing its German heritage, so the group capped off the day with lunch at
The Auslander, enjoying authentic German cuisine and hospitality. Stay tuned for announcements about future Garden
Adventurers outings. We look forward to seeing you on the next adventure!
